SMS POLICY

*SMS Policy for Appointment Reminders and Scheduling*

1. *Purpose*: This policy governs the use of SMS (Short Message Service) for sending appointment reminders and scheduling messages to clients.

2. *Opt-In Requirement*: Clients must explicitly opt-in to receive SMS messages. This can be done during the initial registration process or through a subsequent explicit agreement.

3. *Content of Messages*: SMS messages will include:
- Name of the organization “Corehealthpsych “
- Purpose of the message (appointment reminder or scheduling).
- Date and time of the appointment.
- Location of the appointment (if applicable).
- Instructions for rescheduling or cancellation.

4. *Frequency of Messages*: Reminder messages will be limited to a maximum of two per appointment - one a week before and another a day prior to the appointment. Scheduling messages will be sent as needed, based on client requests or changes in appointment details.

5. *Privacy and Confidentiality*: All messages will respect client privacy and confidentiality. No sensitive personal information will be included in the SMS.

6. *Opt-Out Option*: Every SMS message will include an option for the client to opt out of future messages. Instructions on how to opt-out will be clear and straightforward.

7. *Compliance with Laws*: All SMS communication will comply with relevant laws and regulations regarding electronic communications and privacy.

8. *Feedback and Complaints*: Clients will have the option to provide feedback or file complaints regarding the SMS service. Contact information for feedback will be included in every message.

9. *Monitoring and Review*: This policy will be regularly reviewed and updated as necessary to ensure effectiveness and compliance with legal and ethical standards.

10. *Emergency Changes*: In case of emergency changes (e.g., same-day appointment changes), clients will be contacted via phone call in addition to SMS, when possible.
